Information about the different types of scuba diving
masks, snorkeling masks, and other types of underwater
diving masks.
One Window Diving Masks
Many older diving masks have a single pane of
glass and an indentation for the nose that allowed
a diver to pinch their nose to clear their ears.
Two Window Diving Masks
Most modern masks have two windows, one for each eye,
and because these masks allow in less air, they
are also known as "Low Volume Masks". The low volume
of air in these masks makes it easier for a diver
to blow water out of the mask.
Full Face Diving Masks
A full face diving masks seals a diver's entire face.
Full face masks are usually used by professional divers
rather then recreational divers. For information about
issues related to full face masks see the Wikipedia
Wikipedia Full Face Diving Mask article.
